
(01/27/19) - Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced who would succeed her in the event of a disaster under the Emergency Interim Succession Act.
The line of succession goes like this:
Lieutenant governor, the elected secretary of state, the elected attorney general, the president pro tempore of the senate and speaker of the house of representatives
If none of them are able to perform the duties - the job goes to the emergency interim successor.
Those names were just announced Friday.
They are State Treasurer Rachel Eubanks, Former Lt. Governor John Cherry of Clio, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, Businessman Gary Torgow and U-S Senator Debbie Stabenow.
