
(1/29/2019) - With dangerous wind chills in the forecast, Mid-Michigan schools were quick to call off classes for Wednesday -- a third straight day for many districts.
School closings for the northern parts of Mid-Michigan were reported by 2 p.m. Tuesday. Shiawassee County schools were some of the first to cancel, along with schools in Midland and Saginaw counties.

In addition to schools closing for the day, the Flint Social Security office also will be closed for the day on Wednesday.
Wednesday could be the coldest day in 25 years for much of Mid-Michigan, with a high temperature around -1 degrees and a wind chill hitting -40 degrees at times.
Thursday doesn't look much warmer with a high temperature of 5 degrees and more dangerously cold wind chills.
