(5/20/2020) - Two Mid-Michigan animal shelters are offering a place for pets to stay while they are displaced due to record-setting floods on the Tittabawassee River. The Humane Society of Midland County and Saginaw County Animal Care and Control are asking anyone who needs shelter for their pet due to flooding to give them a call. The Midland shelter is offering to help provide temporary assistance to those displaced because of the floods. The humane society can be reached at 989-835-1877. Saginaw County is offering shelter to dogs, cats and small animals during the flood. Animal control workers will accept animals by appointment at 1312 Gratiot Ave. in Saginaw. Call 989-385-0230 for assistance or information on pets picked up by first responders from flooded areas of Saginaw County. The Humane Society of Midland County says its call for donations of supplies has been answered and its need is met for now.
